Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Presiden Ukraina Volodymyr Zelenskyy mengatakan dirinya ingin mengakhiri perang dengan Rusia tahun depan melalui “cara diplomatik”.
Zelenskyy berbicara sehari setelah mengatakan bahwa ia memperkirakan konflik akan berakhir lebih cepat daripada yang seharusnya, setelah Presiden terpilih Amerika Serikat Donald Trump menjabat tahun depan.
“Bagi kami, kami harus melakukan segala yang kami bisa untuk memastikan bahwa perang ini berakhir tahun depan. Kami harus mengakhirinya melalui cara diplomatik,” kata Zelenskyy dalam sebuah wawancara dengan radio Ukraina, dikutip dari Channel Information Asia dan AFP, Sabtu (16/11/2024).
“Dan ini, menurut saya, sangat penting,” tambahnya.
Tidak ada pembicaraan yang berarti antara Rusia dan Ukraina, tetapi kepresidenan Trump menimbulkan pertanyaan tentang masa depan konflik ini, dengan kelompok Republikan pendukung Trump berulang kali mengatakan bahwa sosok presiden AS terpilih ini akan mengakhiri perang dengan cepat.
“Kita harus memahami apa yang diinginkan Rusia,” kata Zelenskyy.
Sementara itu, Presiden Rusia Vladimir Putin mengatakan dirinya hanya akan menerima pembicaraan dengan Ukraina jika Kyiv menyerahkan wilayah Ukraina yang diduduki Moskow.
Kremlin mengatakan bahwa ia mengulangi permintaan itu dalam percakapan telepon dengan Kanselir Jerman Olaf Scholz pada hari Jumat lalu. Zelenskyy telah menolak persyaratan Putin.
Moskow telah membuat kemajuan yang mantap di Ukraina timur sejak musim panas ini, mendekati pusat-pusat utama seperti Pokrovsk dan Kurakhove. Zelenskyy mengatakan pada hari Sabtu bahwa pasukan Rusia menderita kerugian besar dan kekuatan pasukan mulai “melambat” di beberapa daerah.
